Felix is Jo’s 17 year old son. In his final year at school, he works hard to balance revising for his A-levels whilst also riding out as much as possible. Off the yard, you can find Felix playing cricket; at the races or herding cows with Grandad, Peter. He is looking forward to getting his Cat A licence out after finishing school and already has his eye on a few rides on the yard! 

Dawn has worked in the yard since 2017. She had worked in a flat yard and a showjumping yard before coming to us. She has always loved horses and owned her own in the past. Dawn has enjoyed success riding in 3 Charity Races on the yard horses and remains unbeaten. She also has her amateur license and rode on the flat in 2019. She recently passed her trailer test with the assistance of Racing Welfare.

Jo’s father, Peter Foster, loves going racing and, as such, became the nominated box driver. He owns the farm where the yard is based and farms beef cattle. Peter is always on hand to help out with various DIY tasks from fencing to moving haylage. The list never seems to diminish. His help is invaluable.

Becky is very experienced with all types of horses particularly breaking in and schooling on. She has worked in the yard for 6 years, full time for 3 years and now part-time as she has a job working for the council. Becky owns her own our ex-racer which she competes and hunts. She loves her hens, our sheep (the shepherdess), her horse, Teddy the mini spotty pony we sold her, and her little dog, who fits nicely in her handbag.

Alicia came to us on work experience from Askham Bryan College 6 years ago and never left. She is also a qualified Beautician and works in her family salon along with the yard. She is excellent at turnout and likes to do her stable management properly. Always has a smile on her face and very capable in her work.

Henry comes in to ride out and school for us when we need him. He has ridden quite a number of winners for us over the years and is popular with owners. Now a father he gets married in summer of 2022. Here he is winning at Cartmel on Urban Gale for my father.

Champion jockey Brian Hughes has had a good strike rate for us in 2022 winning on every horse he has sat on of ours, including Sigurd who he gets on so well with and is not an easy horse to coax home, and Eskendash. 

Brian is a master at his craft and a total horseman. Always a pleasure having him ride one as he most certainly does his homework.

Sean is a class jockey and always tries hard. He has ridden a number of winners for us and is popular with owners. He has always had a great rapport with Chase The Wind. They both returned from serious injury to win at Huntingdon after a lay off in 2019. A special day for all of us.
